SUPPORT SCHOOL PANTRIES
FIGHTING CHILDHOOD HUNGER WITH SCHOOL PANTRIES
Children who lack proper nutrition face learning disabilities, delayed development and behavioral problems. And childhood food insecurity can lead to lifelong health struggles. At Food Bank of Iowa, we know for every child experiencing hunger at school, there are almost always siblings and guardians at home who also need help with food.
Our school pantry program provides food access in a trusted environment to support the entire family. Did you know Food Bank of Iowa has established 165 school pantries across 44 counties? Schools never pay a fee – Food Bank of Iowa provides food, training and delivery free of charge, thanks to generous donors.
We’re working hard to meet the need – but there’s still so much to do! May we count on your support to lift up Iowa families?
How can I sponsor a school pantry?
By sponsoring a school pantry, you or your organization can help cover the costs it takes to operate year-round. Ready to help or want to learn more? Contact Vice President of Philanthropy Bergetta Beardsley to get started.
